Credit transfer from school to TAFE

If you have successfully completed your Higher School Certificate you may be able to get advanced standing in TAFE courses. There are more than 50 HSC subjects that can give you advanced standing in more than 500 TAFE modules and national recognition arrangements for the nine VET Industry curriculum frameworks which are based on national training packages. Information is available from the HSC/TAFE Credit Transfer website http://www.det.nsw.edu.au/hsctafe

Credit transfer from TAFE to HSC

Courses satisfactorily completed in TAFE or other recognised post-secondary institutions may provide credit in the form of units of study towards the preliminary and/or HSC study pattern required for the HSC, up to a maximum of 10 units (6 preliminary and 4 HSC).

Credit transfer from ACE to TAFE

When you complete certain courses or modules with training providers in the Adult and Community Education (ACE) sector, you could be eligible for advanced standing in many different TAFE courses. ACE also provides a growing number of national modules that are recognised by TAFE.

Credit transfer with TAFE

When you enrol in a new course at TAFE you can be given advanced standing for courses that you have finished previously. You will need to present transcripts or certificates when you apply. You will need to discuss this with your head teacher.

Credit transfer from TAFE to  higher education varies so you should contact the university offering the course you wish to enter to get more information.
