The winners of the North Coast TAFE Student Association Art Acquisitive Grand Final were announced recently night at the exhibition opening in the Space Gallery, Lismore TAFE Campus.

The winners are:

2D Winner Sue Addison “Lagoon”
3D Winner Samantha Walsh “With Baited Breath” 
2D Runner up Julie Corbet “Menage a Trois”
3D Runner up Heidi Ledwell “Unconditional Support”

Student Association Officer Jane Burrows said, “Congratulations to the winners. This is a wonderful celebration of some great talent within our local student community.”

The judges also awarded three highly commended to Jill Thomas “Lyle Roberts”, Sion Thomas  “ Grove” and Naomi Grooteman “Hanging on the Hills Hoist”.

The winner’s prize for each category is $600.00 with runners up receiving $150.00. Winning artwork is acquired by the North Coast TAFE Student Association to become part of their permanent collection.

There are 5 regional competitions and each regional competition has selected 4 x 2D and 4 x 3D artworks to be submitted to the finals.

The Art Aquisitive is an annual event organised and managed by the Student Association.
