Grafton Rotary Midday’s vocational meeting day was hosted by North Coast TAFE’s Trenayr Campus on Wednesday, with a visit to the Equine training facility.
President of Rotary Club of Grafton Midday, Carmel Devine said, “Our vocational visit days allow our members to broaden their knowledge of different industries and training facilities”.
“This visit to TAFE Campus at Trenayr has been an eye opener, as one of my staff members did an equine nursing course out here, and was always talking about it, now I can see why, it’s very impressive”.
Head Teacher, Gary Zohrab lead the facility tour, relaying some the interesting history about the origin and growth of what was built, and what still is, the largest and best Equine training facility in TAFE NSW.
“Whilst we primarily focus on horse care and handling, and equine nursing, we also offer conservation and land management, horticulture and forestry”.
“Trenayr Campus is also home to NATFISH, which specialises in distance education in aquaculture, seafood and fishing industry and marine education” Gary added.
Rotarian, Karen Semitecolos said “It’s great to see the strong focus for students on the safety aspects of handling large animals”, a sentiment echoed by many of the group.
