Wollongbar TAFE student Sylvia Pawlus has won the NSW Student Association Diary Design Competition.
As winner of the design competition, Sylvia received $1,500 prize money and her design will grace the front cover of the 2012 student diary issued to all Student Association members in NSW.
Sylvia who will be in Year 12 at high school this year has been studying Certificate III in Media at Wollongbar TAFE as part of her year 11 and 12 studies at Richmond River High School.
“When I found out that I’d won the competition I was so surprised because entries were from all over the state” said Sylvia.
“My TAFE teacher encouraged me to enter so I thought I’d give it a go, just for the experience I never thought I’d win” continued Sylvia.
Sylvia’s inspiration for the design came from wanting to do something different with rich deep colours, a bit abstract and futuristic, while keeping in mind that it had to work well on a diary cover.
“When I finish school I’d like to work or continue studies in graphic design, marketing or advertising and winning this competition gives me more confidence in achieving my goals” said Sylvia.
