Career prospects

In NSW, tourism is a $28 billion industry and is one of Australia’s largest with approximately 2.7 million people travelling to Australia each year on a holiday. That accounts for more than $34 billion going towards Australia’s GDP.*

Supported by the strong tourism sector, hospitality is one of the NSW North Coast’s largest employers, accounting for 7.9% of the region’s workforce, and 7.7% of the total NSW workforce. The accommodation and food services industry had the largest job growth in NSW in 2010/11 with a net increase of 41,700 employees*
Potential tourism, hospitality and events careers include tour guide, travel agent, event manager, accommodation service provider, airline crew, chef, baker or perhaps your own catering business!
