Services and options
It is TAFE NSW policy that vocational education and training should be equally available to everyone. TAFE NSW consults with people with disabilities, community groups and government agencies to find the best ways of putting its policy into practice. Teacher consultants for students with disabilities are located at campuses throughout North Coast TAFE.
Specialist teacher consultants
Teacher consultants are available to assist you with your study needs. They can organise services with you to participate in courses at TAFE NSW. Your right to privacy and confidentiality will be respected. Teacher consultants in North Coast ATFE specialise in deaf/hearing impairment, intellectual disability, physical disability and blind and vision impairment. Services and assistance for all other disability areas are also provided.
A teacher consultant can help you by providing:
- Information about courses before you enrol
- Enrolment advice and assistance
- Fee exemption assistance
- Advice on possible financial support
- Information on support staff, services and adaptive equipment
- Information on other TAFE and community services
