On campus services
All our campuses offer an excellent learning environment with:

Bookshop and EFTPOS
Some campuses now have a bookshop open for limited hours where you can obtain textbooks and other learning materials. EFTPOS facilities are offered in some locations.
Canteen and student common room
Each campus provides a student common area to relax in outside of class hours. Most campuses also have a canteen, tea and coffee-making facilities, microwave ovens and food and drink vending machines.
Security
Each campus employs security officers or contracts a security firm to provide security patrols, to ensure a safe and secure student and staff environment.
Student associations
Student Associations are run by students for students and are a great way to get involved in campus activities, social and sporting events. Many campus Student Associations provide a range of support services such as vending machines, photocopiers, recreational facilities, and accommodation assistance.
You can join your local Student Association for $20 for a full year, or $10 for the second half of the year. As a member you get student rates on TAFE NSW activities and services such as bookshops, and discounts listed in the Student Association Discount Guide. All campuses have a Student Associations Officer. Their role is to find out what facilities, services and activities are needed by the students, to run the Student Associations and to advise students of their rights and responsibilities.
TAFEcard
The TAFEcard is a student identification card and a stored value card. It displays your photograph, name and student number. You use it for identification on campus and in final examinations, for registration on the TAFE NSW library network, for membership of your student association, access to parking and secure areas such as computer laboratories and for eligible student travel and other concessions. It also contains a reloadable ‘electronic purse’ and works at TELSTRA payphones. The TAFEcard also allows you to receive discounts on a range of goods and services. Find out more about the TAFEcard.
Tutorial support
You can get help with English, English as a second language, reading, writing, maths, science, computing and communication for any North Coast Institute course you are studying. Tutorial support is available at our Individual Learning Centres, Adult Study Centres, Adult Basic Education Centres and at all North Coast Institute campuses.
Wireless network
North Coast TAFE provides you with wireless access to our network on all of our campuses. This is to enhance the flexibility of our educational delivery and your access to resources and research. The network is designed to support notebook, laptop and netbook computers but will also support other wireless capable devices such as mobile phones, PDA’s, tablets and music devices.
