North Coast TAFE's English Language Centres offer a range of English language courses designed for students to improve their English for international communication, personal development, business and professional purposes or further study.

Study essential English for effective communication in daily life. Use the core skills of speaking, listening, reading, writing and study skills to improve.

Advanced English

Certificate III English for Further Study - allows direct entry into all TAFE career courses

Certificate IV in English for Academic Purposes

 

Intermediate to Upper Intermediate

 

 

Upper Intermediate to Advanced

English language and study skills needed for success in TAFE and university studies

Teaching methods

A combination of teaching methods designed to suit the student's learning styles are used, including:

Accommodation

Homestay accommodation with families close to the English Language Centre is available. Homestay will help you develop your English skills quickly and to make friends in the area.

Assessment

Ongoing formal and informal assessment include individual and group assignments, language skills tests, portfolio and project work, and class presentations. Students receive continuous feedback and end of term progress reports.

On completion of each course students receive a TAFE Certificate and transcript.
