How often do you need to attend?

You are expected to attend every TVET class. TAFE is required to inform the school of your attendance pattern. Punctuality and attendance at TAFE should be given the highest priority.

For some courses you will attend once or twice a week for between 2-4 hours. For some other courses you will be at TAFE for the day.

Is there homework?

You should expect to be given homework. The amount of homework given will vary depending on the course. It is up to you to revise your notes from the previous lesson to help develop your skills.

What equipment is needed?

You need to provide your own writing materials. TAFE provides all equipment, materials, protective clothing, module notes and texts for TVET students.

How do school students get to TAFE?

Schools organise transport to most TAFE campuses. Students may need to organize their own transport to some courses. You will be required to meet all or some of the costs of transport to and from TAFE.

What do I wear to TAFE?

You do not have to wear your school uniform but you must dress appropriately.

You may be given some protective wear needed for the course and it must be worn, as directed, without exception. Any uniform that is provided must be worn as required. Thongs are not permitted.
